As it already happened with the Copa América de Fútbol in 2021, the sports betting operator Betsson has managed to become an Exclusive regional Betting Partner for the CONMEBOL Femenina 2022 edition that will be held from next July 8 in Colombia. Betsson's presence in South America is becoming more and more solid and the Swedish casino is thus able to reaffirm its commercial brand in the Latin American region where sports betting enjoys a great following. On the other hand, the support for women's football is part of the inclusivity strategy promoted by Betsson.
Exclusive Betting Partner: CONMEBOL 2022
It couldn't be said in a better way, Betsson has bet on Latin America . Last year the Swedish bookmaker became the main sponsor of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021 . The most important event in South American football celebrated Lionel Messi's Argentina as the rightful champion.
Women's football is on the rise and not only in New Zealand with an exceptional generation of players among whom highlights Alexia Putellas . It is also making its way in Latin America. Betsson knows this well and how part of its corporate strategy to support gender equality he has not missed the opportunity to partner with CONMEBOL in this aspect.
"In addition to the exciting potential to further increase the awareness of our Betsson brand in the region, we are extremely proud to partner with CONMEBOL, as they are exceptionally committed to the improvement of women's football in South America. They are members of the UN Global Pact Target Gender Equality program and are the only confederation that requires men's clubs participating in its tournaments to have two women's football teams, both at youth and adult level. In addition, the female representation of CONMEBOL is inspiring, since about 42% of its officials, 55% of its managers and 18% of the executive positions are women. At Betsson we have an approximately similar representation. 40% of our workforce identifies as female.” – Jesper Svensson , CEO of Betsson Group, in press release
The agreement will allow Betsson to perform promotional activities of the brand in the stadiums , use the image of the championship in its marketing and content, and sponsor the "Official Lineup" of each of the participating teams.
What is at stake here is to acquire the greatest possible visibility. Given the television ratings achieved at the 2019 Women's World Cup in which the United States were crowned champions with Megan Rapinoe in star plan, it is expected that for this edition it will be possible to surpassing the record of more than 20 million viewers reached at the 2018 CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina in Chile.
For sure, an important audience will be in New Zealand, with a considerable Spanish-speaking population that will thus be able to have access to Betsson content that the Royal Decree of the DGOJ blocks in our country.
The favorites of the Women's CONMEBOL 2022
The ten member teams of CONMEBOL participate in the tournament whose opening match it will take place in Cali on July 8 . Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, in addition to host Colombia, will not only compete for the most important regional trophy. The top three teams will automatically qualify for the Women's World Cup of FIFA to be held in Australia and New Zealand next year. The teams ranked in fourth and fifth position will play a repechage that will allow them to participate in the 2023 World Cup. Therefore, a lot is at stake in this CONMEBOL Copa América 2022, which will be the IX edition of the tournament.
In the previous edition that was held in Chile in 2018, the selection of Brazil, the real dominator of the tournament which has already been 7 corked. Only on one occasion could Argentina break with the hegemony of the Brazilians and it was in 2006 in the tournament that was played precisely in Argentina. In the VIII edition in Chile the albicelestes were third and the Chilean team achieved the runner-up and the Fair Play award.
With the permission of the host Colombia, the Chilean, Brazilian and Argentine national teams will again be the big favorites to win the champions cup . Brazil, which has been able to boast of having one of the best football players in history, Marta Vieira da Silva, is not experiencing one of its best moments today. Women's football continues to be anchored in the northern hemisphere with national teams such as the United States, Sweden, the Netherlands or New Zealand, while in the impoverished south the possibilities for young players they are much more limited.
But this may be Colombia's Copa America. Coffee makers are in every pool and in the opinion of most experts it is today the team that deserves to win the tournament . After the men's national team disappointed by not qualifying for the Qatar World Cup, it is the turn for the women's football team to win the hearts of all Colombians.
