The gaming sector does not stop in Latin America

Despite the global coronavirus crisis that has forced everyone to lock themselves in their homes, the gaming sector has slowed down but has not stagnated. This is the case that is lived in the Argentine city of Buenos Aires, where the SAGSE convention of the iGaming industry still stands although with some restrictions.

The iGaming industry is moving forward

The convention about the gambling industry, SAGSE, was to take place in the city of Buenos Aires in the middle of last March . Given the health crisis, among several twists and turns, the organizers decided in early April to postpone the event until next year.

According to the vice-president of the company in charge of the organization, both Argentina and Latin America are they are preparing for the worst time of the pandemic thus producing an already complicated context for both the gaming industry as well as for the entire economy of the region.

According to Latin American experts who would have taken the official's statements, he does not lack reason. Especially in Argentina it is progressively approaching the coldest months of the year , and this could bring more serious consequences than those that European countries would suffer during the coming summer where the curve begins to flatten.

In addition, the South American country that will remain as host of the next edition has a delicate health structure. Added to this, decisions at the national level are made to take effect every two weeks without foresight, which makes it difficult to organize. Despite this, analysts agree that the postponement is according to the situation that is lived .

As it has transpired in local media, the aforementioned official would have closed his public statement stating that given the conditions the event could not be held in any way, and that following the commitment of the organizers in the face of an unprecedented situation worldwide it was decided to move the event to next year .

In addition to this, the organizers plan to continue the development of the event next year. According to sources close to the management, there are interesting news for both investors and players in general . At the moment there has been no news of when these news will be known.

In the meantime, they promise that in the coming weeks of May, from SAGSE they will release a statement with worthwhile news to the public. The reason behind this is based on the fact that while the event will be held within a year, the iGaming industry is moving at such a speed that they can't wait any longer .

For the moment, the gambling industry and the iGaming world can be satisfied with the fact that at least last February of this year the most important convention in the industry was held: the ICE London . Definitely something valuable for all investors and players in general.

Towards an online convention

While the official SAGSE convention in Buenos Aires will take place on March 17, 2021, this has not prevented the organizers from they will hold online and free sessions at the end of April . Just a month after what would be the physical event, the organization had online talks for all interested.

This new and interesting modality opened with its first session on April 21. The talk was focused on the challenges faced by the industry specifically in Argentina . In addition, it was accompanied by an in-depth analysis about the opportunities that exist in the region.

Among the participants of this panel, representatives of the Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires appeared, as well as other similar organizations of the South American country. In addition, members of the gambling sector from other countries participated, such as Evert Montero Cárdenas, President of the Colombian Federation of Entrepreneurs of Games of Luck and Chance .

As it transpired after the first conference, the vice president of the organizing company would have stated that

"through this initiative SAGSE managed to bring together the best industry experts and opinion formers to share their ideas and valuable tools.”

Thus, it seems that the adjustments proposed by the organization work perfectly.

According to the schedule provided by SAGSE, every Tuesday during the following weeks there will be different open talks in which anyone can participate. Other topics of interest will be added soon within the wide range of the gaming industry such as sports betting and much more .
